JOURNAL PROMPT
Write a letter to someone you previously dated but no longer speak to
For this journal prompt I suggest you first give yourself space to be quiet and breathe. Once you’re in that space, reflect on a romantic relationship you’ve had in the past. It doesn’t matter if this was a long-term or short-term relationship. Whether you ended on good, neutral, or bad terms also doesn’t matter. If you immediately think of someone then that’s the person to focus on. Imagine that person sitting in front of you. What would you want to stay to them? Please note, you will not be sending this letter, so write freely.
Picture your relationship with this person. There were reasons the relationship happened. Thank them for the good stuff and what you learned. Wish them well. Wish the best for them. Tell them thank you and goodbye.
Once you’re done writing the letter take a pause. Sit in that acknowledgment that this relationship ended. You’ve let them go and that’s okay. That chapter has closed. You no longer need to hold onto hope, or unacknowledged feelings or wonder. Just let it be.
Repeat this journal prompt with as many relationships as you like.
